Villa di Vetro

Set on the seafront along the Palermitan coast, Villa di Vetro stands as a contemporary icon of light and transparency. The architecture is defined by a simple yet powerful vocabulary: clear volumes, clean lines, and above all, the bold use of glass blocks composing much of the walls. These translucent surfaces capture, filter, and transform Mediterranean light, creating a subtle play of clarity and shifting shadows throughout the day.

A dialogue between inside and outside

The residence opens generously onto the sea through vast glass façades that dissolve the traditional boundaries between indoors and outdoors. The living spaces — from the lounge and kitchen to the bedrooms and wellness areas — are all designed to extend the gaze outward toward the horizon. The selected materials, including polished marble, warm wood, and natural stone, emphasize both refinement and a strong connection to the Mediterranean context.

Fluid and luminous spatiality

Inside, the villa offers expansive volumes with striking double heights, bathed in overhead natural light. Monumental bookshelves, planted patios, and trees integrated into the living areas create a direct connection to nature. Each room carries its own unique atmosphere: the kitchen as a convivial heart facing the sea, the living room as a contemplative haven, and the bedrooms as intimate sanctuaries open to the landscape.

A sensory experience

The transparency of the glass blocks, combined with the shimmering reflections of the indoor pool and the broad outdoor terraces, creates an architectural experience that is both soothing and theatrical. As natural light transitions to artificial illumination, the villa transforms at dusk into a crystalline lantern, seemingly placed upon the Mediterranean itself.
